IntelliSense.io started operation in 2014 with a mission to make capital and asset intensive industries like Mining and Oil & Gas dramatically more efficient and reduce health and safety risk through the application of digital technologies. The Global Mining industry is grappling with the twin pressures of (1) lower ore grades, which is impacting efficiency and is also driving the move towards underground operations and (2) increasing environmental and sustainability regulations for license to operate.
From the Silicon Fen of Cambridge UK, IntelliSense.io’s collaboration with IP company ARM holdings (www.arm.com) was where they first started evaluating the market opportunity around Industrial IOT. This resulted in IntelliSense.io developing its first generation product, which was a wireless hardware (IOT) device that can be retrofit to existing sensors or new sensors and used to extract data from remote operations.
Following successful deployments at both Europe’s leading semiconductor plant and the world’s leading uranium mining company in Kazakhstan, IntelliSense.io focussed their business on analysing the sensor data to derive actionable information. This led them to develop their current product: a real time operational decision making platform (brains.app) which is used to develop and deploy a portfolio of end user applications targeting specific process optimisations at Mining operations. These Optimisation as a Services (OaaS) applications are underpinned by Digital Twins of mining processes and Decision Optimisers both powered by AI. These applications are deployed through an annual subscription software model enabling the models and decision optimiser to be kept updated continuously factoring in changing ore and operating conditions.
