International Women’s Day: Celebrating Women in Technology.
Please meet Lalitha who has been kind enough to share her story as a 15 year veteran of the software industry. Lalitha has experienced multiple roles in that time from development through to technical project management, which is the position she now holds at IntelliSense.io. We are so grateful to have your experience and leadership in the company Lalitha, thank you for being a part of the team.
We are sharing stories of our colleagues because we are passionate about International Women’s Day (IWD) and proud of its mission to “celebrate digital advancement and champion the women forging innovation through technology”.
Tell us a little bit about your educational & career background so far
I have a Master’s Degree in Computer Application and I now have over 15 years of IT industry experience. I started my carrier as a .Net/Java developer and worked my way up into IT project management with experience in the development, design and support of middleware services/platform.
After a decade in my previous company, I felt the need for a change which is when I joined IntelliSense.io as a Technical Project Manager.
Who inspired or helped you on your journey?
My family. My parents came from rural India with very limited access to Education and their only goal in life was to provide a good education for me and my sister. They have always been encouraging and supportive and put our education ahead of any other comfort in life.
Is there anything you would go back and do differently or change?
Yes, definitely, I would have liked to have read more and more books outside of just academic texts. I am now trying to be an avid reader!
What does the future hold for you?
I am not sure, but whatever it might be, my motto has always been “bring it on!“
What do you do at IntelliSense.io?
I work as a Technical Project Manager which involves delivering implementation projects, internal and external stakeholder communication and team dynamics.
Why did you choose IntelliSense.io?
For all of my career, until IntelliSense, I have been part of teams building software for the Telecoms industry.
IntelliSense.io was different, as it’s addressing the issues and modernizing an age-old industry in Mining. This was the first reason which really drove me towards IntelliSense.io.
As the company is growing rapidly, I was excited for the many opportunities to implement my learnings and set up the processes. And by doing so, I knew I would learn something new every single day.
What do you love about your job?
There are loads of things I could list here, to name but a few:
I love the different cultures (stemming from 27 different nationalities that work here). We are a truly diverse group and in fact, I have even started learning Spanish to better converse with some of my stakeholders and team members!
I enjoy the constant challenge to address very real and practical issues and the satisfaction I get when we solve them.
Lastly, I welcome the strong team spirit and the openness and honest communication that exists right across the board.
What advice would you give others thinking of following your path?
Don’t ever give up. The moment you decide not to give up is the moment you start winning.
And lastly, it always helps greatly to have a great Mentor to fall back on for advice and guidance. Don’t be afraid to ask for that help.
