Kazakhstan Mining Industry Center of Competence Selects IntelliSense.io as their Industrial Internet of Things and Data Analytics partner for their Mining Innovations Program.

Cambridge, UK and Almaty, Kazakhstan — 15th September 2016 — IntelliSense.io and the Kazakhstan Center of Competence in Mining & Metallurgical announce that they have entered into a strategic partnership to deploy IntelliSense.io analytics and decision support technologies to improve efficiency and upgrade workforce skills for the Kazakhstan natural resources sector. The partnership is part of initiatives undertaken by the Competence Center of Mining and Metallurgical Complex (MMC), announced in April by the Kazakhstan autonomous cluster fund “Innovative Technologies Park”, Almaty Tech Garden, and international consulting firm, McKinsey & Company. Almaty Tech Garden will represent the Center and manage the IntelliSense.io partnership in close collaboration with McKinsey. 

A strategic partnership agreement has been signed between the two entities enabling IntelliSense.io to work closely with Almaty Tech Garden and McKinsey to deploy their mining applications portfolio across the mine extraction, mineral processing and utility systems with the primary goal of improving throughput and efficiency, reducing environmental impact and reducing operating expense to Kazakh mine operations. The partnership also supports training to global best practices and subject matter experts and will be accessible through a training program at the MMC focused on delivering data driven decision making expertise to the Kazakhstan Mining sector.

IntelliSense.io, whose technology is used to optimise processes and systems through a combination of sensors, software and simulation, have proven successes from their deployments in base and precious metal mining across the world. Its applications make capital and asset intensive industries more efficient and productive by delivering previously unknown operational insights from real-time sensor data analysis. One of the first pilot sites for deploying the technology through the partnership will be the Polymetal (Varvarinskoye) mine.

McKinsey has advocated the use of digital innovations and implementation of the “Industry 4.0” concept to improve mining productivity as a key requirement for global miners to improve productivity and efficiency amid the downturn in the commodity cycle. The MMC Competence Center will be first such center dedicated to the mining industry to be set up in Kazakhstan.
